TIME「今年の人」はYou(Tube)

米タイム誌が選ぶ今年の人、2006年は「あなた」　TIME Person of the Yearによると、恒例の「今年の人」に「You(Tube)」が代表で選ばれた。選考理由は以下の通り。
It's about the cosmic compendium of knowledge Wikipedia and the million-channel people's network YouTube and the online metropolis MySpace. It's about the many wresting power from the few and helping one another for nothing and how that will not only change the world, but also change the way the world changes.

商品名を選考しにくいので心配りしたのか、表向きはYouだが、その意図は明らかにYouTubeだ。もちろん、その中に「あなた」も入っている。
「タイム」は「今年の発明」でも「ユーチューブ」を選んでおり、ダブル受賞となった。
これまでのPerson of the Yearによると、サイバーワールドから選ばれるのは初。
なお、当ブログの「今年のYouTube」はWinter in July。選考理由はLoretta Heywoodが最高に良く、飽きもせず半年間、折に触れて聞いていたことと、一度も「no longer available」にならなかったこと。Groove Me IIさんに感謝。
